Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as a means of escape. -Bell Hooks

Racial Trauma in Real Time: Clinical Strategies, Clinical Truths, and Ethical Care for Black Therapists February 25, 2026 1-2:15PM ET
Racial Trauma in Real Time is an honest, grounded conversation between Deran Young and Kenneth V. Hardy about what it actually means to live, work, and practice while carrying racial trauma. In this conversation, Deran and Ken name racial trauma for what it is: cumulative, systemic, and deeply personal. They explore how it shows up not only in our clients, but in us—in our bodies, our clinical identities, and our ethical decision-making. This is space for self-examination, honesty, and collective grounding, with the shared understanding that healing racial trauma isn’t just clinical work—it’s personal, relational, and communal. Come as you are. This conversation is about naming what’s real, reducing harm, and strengthening ourselves as clinicians and as people. Learn more and register here.
