Power & Praxis is a 5-month hybrid culturally grounded program for people who want to understand kink through the lenses of trauma, identity, power, embodiment, and community care. The training is for therapists, practitioners, educators, community members, and anyone who appreciates rigor and wants to work with kink in a way that is ethical, culturally aware, and rooted in real skill. Kink shows up in our communities for reasons tied to survival, agency, desire, protection, and self-definition. Most traditional training doesn’t teach us how to understand it, assess it, or support people who practice it. That gap causes harm.

Power & Praxis fills that gap with frameworks that honor culture, consent, embodiment, and the realities of Black and marginalized communities. We talk about reenactment versus healing, power versus harm, and how kink can be a space of expression, insight, and reclamation.

Yulinda Renee Rahman, Ph.D. also known as “DocYuRoc” is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Educator, and Board-Certified Kink Conscious Sex Therapist with a Doctorate in Clinical Sexology. She is a creator of “brave spaces” and a cultivator of catalytic conversations around topics that some may find taboo or difficult to discuss. Her work centers on developing resources that empower others in their journey toward self-awareness, embodiment, and self-mastery.
